Deep Blue

Although the moodiness and drama of black and dark purple that have dominated in recent years are still relevant, blue is big. Navy, denim and indigo hues are popping up on walls, furniture and accent pieces. Turquoise was the of-the-moment shade for a couple of years, so these stronger approaches to the color seem different and fresh.

Blue is also an American classic, from fashion (denim jeans, blue blazers) to nature (our bordering oceans, the Great Lakes, Colorado’s clear blue sky). It’s reassuring and comfortable and provides an appropriate counterpoint to nearly the entire spectrum.
